Funny, how many of them weren't from the Middle East??? Any at all? Considering the vast majority of Muslims in Australia are not from the Middle East, why do ALL of the problems seem to be coming from those particular people??? Obviously it ain't the religion at all, but perhaps the place they're from??? Or to take it even further, the fact that most are descended from refugee stock, the same as most Asians in Australia are great people, but the stock from Vietnamese refugees that occupied Cabramatta are also an aberration from that general rule??? The word refugee seems to be the only common factor, seeing as neither race nor religion is.
It ain't my religion, but agreed, Islam is only now starting the reform process that Christianity got into in the late 1800's-early 1900's, they're about a century late. But the thing is they are now doing it, most notably in places like Malaysia and Indonesia, the most populous Muslim area of the world.
I'd say more like 100 years ago.
The Wahabis are extremists, luckily the vast majority of Muslims are not Wahabi and want nothing to do with that strain of Islam.
