Do you have any evidence for this accusation? I can't see much reason what Israel would have had to gain in doing so. I don't know very much about the coup against Mossadegh, but what I do know is that during WWII, the Russians occupied part of Iran, and the English finally pressured them out. By 1953, the Cold War had heated up, and communism had taken over many countries. When Mossadegh was elected, he sought to nationalize (steal) the buttets of British petroleum. Now Britain itself had nationalized many British companies in Britain, so nationalization and the bent towards socialism in general was quite popular at that time. From the US perspective, the fear was of Russian domination of oil fields. The coup against Mossadegh was clearly wrong and illegal, but so is nationalization without negotiations and fair compensation. Over the years afterwards, many Arab and other countries nationalized buttets formerly created by the former imperial powers, such as the Suez Canal, and the oil fields of many ARab countries. This was interpreted by the West as being pushed by the Soviets to weaken the West. So many things done during the Cold War by both the Soviets and the Western powers that were wrong. But I don't see what Israel's personal gain would be in any case.

Israel did many things to try to reestablish relations with IRan. It even sold military equipment to Iran during the Iraq-Iran war. IN fact, it was part of the Iran-Contra deal, that Israel and US equipment would come to Iran, and the profits would be used to support the Contras in Nicaragua, in contravention to the Congress's prohibition against formally supporting the Contras. ISrael even purchased Iranian pistachios, and other stuff from Iran to try to open relations with IRan, but this Islamic Iranian regime has adopted the destruction of ISrael as a religous duty for Muslims. If Iran (and North Korea) continue to try to subvert the Nuclear NonProliferation Treaty (NNPT), there will be nuclear war sooner or later anyway. Because not stopping them is an invitation to a 100 other countries to do the same! ISrael has said that Iran's nuclear program is an international issue, but clearly, if Israel is directly threatened by Iranian nukes, it won't take the first blow. It is too small to absorb a nuclear attack first.
