Oz couldn't take it 2968Her defence was that she didn't put it there. She provided no evidence of this though, so there was no reasonable doubt. The prosecution case was that it was her bag, and she had possession...
Oz couldn't take it 2969Dave Baker How can she? buttume (for the purpose of argument) that she is innocent. How can she prove she didn't put it there. The best...
The point is whether the drugs were in there before check-in or not. Nobody is considering that she raced out on the tarmac & shoved the dope in after check-in.
Did any airline official testify whether there were drug sniffing checks made on the baggage as it pbutted through the baggage handling system after check-in?
The point is that there is no EVIDENCE that the dope was planted after she checked it in. She admitted to the bag being hers at the other end.
Oz couldn't take it 2967Dave Baker Indeed it is. If they were, then it's likely her or one of her family were the ones that put it there. Actually some have...
Well, the record says that this isn't the case in Indonesia. Nor is it always the case in Australia - I pbutt through there often & see officers without gloves. Not to say that they mightn't put gloves on afterwards, but the fact is that the bags weren't locked & there are tens of people who could have been in & out of the bag "screwing it up". Are you suggesting that all baggage handlers do or should wear gloves?
No, I watch real life instead of TV & pbutt through Customs 2 or 3 times per week. Never seen gloves worn by anyone. So, fingerprints WILL be on bags. I hardly call that "screwing up" unless you are accusing the Indonesian Customs or Police officials of planting the drugs.
No, it's not - if there have been recorded cases of dope smuggling in Australia then it would be a good idea to do some testing on the evidence from those cases & compare the dope to this case. If they turn out to be from the same batch then this would be very impressive evidence for the defence. Some hearsay from a prisoner wanting a junket to Bali is hardly "evidence".
