She is just one of the hundreds that are caught in Indonesia on drug offences. Tens of these are foreigners. Well, aussies thought their law are superior to others, so they make noise and try to interfere with judicial system in Bali. Cannot reallyt blame them, some of them don't even know where Bali is, they thought it is one of those Pacific islands, close to Fiji ..... The aussie tv channel (nine I think), paid for Corby's mum trip to indonesia, her shopping there etc, in return for an exclusive on the case. Basically they do not respect countries like Indonesia and her law system. Alot of investment went into Corby, there is a website in her name, even a company named after her registered in Australia this month. It therfore has to be drag on and reinvented to keep alive these opportunitistic and vested interests.
The Australian government has to be seen to be doing something, even though the correct thing to do is to do nothing. So the Aussie government yesterday appointed two pro bono QC to look into her case. But don't expect much, since she already seek clemency from the Indon President and that means she is admitting her guilt. And I thought the Melbourne Cup was big.
Call it what you like, but it is a media circus. If Aussies enjoy Big Brother, they sure will like this episode like hell. When this fade away, the next episode coming up will be called "Bali Nine". You guessed it, a team of 9 Aussies caught on drug trafficking after Corby. Maybe this is their prequel to Ocean 11.......
