Area minister arrested and charged with abuse
Catonsville Times, Maryland Friday, November 25, 2005
A Woodlawn minister with an international following has been arrested in connection with five cases of alleged child abuse that date between June 2001 and July 2004.
Gerald Fitroy Griffith, 39, of the 1300 block of Peach Tree Court in Bowie, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant Nov. 15 at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Baltimore County police said.
He is charged with loveual abuse to a minor, perverted practice, sodomy, a number of other love offenses and buttault, according to county police.
Four of the victims are male. The female and two of the male victims were juveniles at the time of the abuse, according to police reports.
Griffith was released on $600,000 bail pending trial, which has not yet been scheduled, according to Cpl. Mike Hill, a county police spokesman.
The incidents allegedly occurred during counseling sessions in the church office at Redemption Christian Fellowship, in the 6500 block of Dogwood Road, over a period of 4 1-2 years, Hill said.
According to the Internet Web site www.geraldgriffith.org "Apostle Griffith" is senior pastor at Redemption Christian Fellowship as well as president and founder of Gerald Griffith Ministries and the Adullam School of Ministry International.

Police say Griffith has traveled throughout the United States and in Africa and South America with his ministries.
At the time of his arrest, he was waiting to board a flight to London, police said.
Redemption Christian Fellowship spokeswoman Paulette Quickley declined to comment.
Police are asking anyone who may have been victimized by Griffith to call Detective Charles Allen at 410-853-3650.
