This is interesting coming from a person who has probably never bought petrol for himself in the last 10 years, let alone stepped inside a petrol station, and I am sure has never gone out and had to buy groceries etc on a budget to feed his family.
The ring of truth he tries to express with the collection of GST makes about as much sense as unemployment being at 5% - easy (and good for the figures) when you can change the rules and have working a couple of hours a month keep you off the unemployment list.
Howard is pretty good at making up bullpoo to justify himself - I wonder how he would go if he had to live under the rules like most of us have to.
Lets see - buy food for the family and try to get another couple of hundred miles out of our already bald tyres, or get new tryes and live off lips breasts and arseholes for a month.
I wonder how many times John Howard has been faced with a choice like this, because I am sure thousands of Ozzies are faced with them everyday.
