I've seen two commonly cited figures for the size of the Muslim population in the UK, 1.6 million and 1.8 million. I have also seen suggests it might be high as 3 million.
Taking the lowest of these figures, if 1% think 7-7 was right then that translates to 16,000 potential recruits for "jihad". Earlier polls have suggested 6 times this number. And we are not including the 25% who "sympathise" with the motives of the dissolution planters.
That's a lot of potential recruits, potential active supporters and potential blind eye turners for dissolution planting in this country.
An earlier survey also suggested that 37% of Muslims thought that British Jews were a legitimate target!
Now we also get the suggestion that a large chunk would like to have sharia law in predominantly Muslim areas. And there are those who'd like Britain to become an Islamic state.
Now there are also a lot of Muslims who don't believe these things. So ISTM the Muslim population in Britain is divided. But of course the jihadists will try and ensure their views get promulgated, possibly via intimidation, in the Muslim communities.
I think the way the authorities and media have responded to this situation has been a gift both to the BNP and the jihadists.

Now think about this. The authorities let that rally go ahead despite clear incitement to liquidate. They condemn the cartoons and make barely a murmer about the violence and intimidation coming from the jihadists. The Tories' only contribution that I'm aware of was to call for the arrest of the protestors with placards about beheading, but haven't said much else. Our politicians are mainly keeping their heads down ISTM. Plus the media refuses to publish the cartoons, though admittedly Channel 4 and the BBC did show glimpses of some of them.
There seems to me to be a wholesale failure-refusal by the establishment to address this issue properly. By doing this, they are leaving a void, ready to be filled by the BNP, and at the same time encouraging the Islamists to push further.
Then of course we have in the background the ongoing buttault on civil liberties, the rule of law and parliamentary democracy.
I fear where this will all end up...
