Peter Wicks (aka "Che Guava"), posting as "fasgnadh", ----snip---- Translation: many frightened establishment personages and establishment flunkies ran around in circles hysterically bleating "racist!", "racist!" That is three lies: 1. Multiculturalism...

Isn't that a tautology? B^D

Is Ned Still impersonating Ned? B^D

Is Ned the gutless coward still slandering people by accusing them without any proof, and refusing to apologise when he is shown to be lying?

Oh well, you would hardly expect Ned to be discussing a substantive issue when he can be slandering people instead.

Private school students miss lessons of real life" - The Age 22-4-2005

Then why complain when others aim your own double-talk back at yourself? If those "Foreign dummies" are not non-Australian, then logically, they must be "Australian". If they are Australian like...

The main lessons their parents are teaching them are;

1. I'm alright Jack 2. Devil take the hindmost 3. Elitism and clbutt division 4. Money is a subsbreastute for ability 5. Buying success is a fools paradise

"It is no wonder private school kids do poorly at uni. They're ill-prepared."

Any child who is 'silver-spooned' to a uni place has been cheated of an important stage of development into an independent learner! To create such defective tertiary students some parents are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars! Eventually, natural selection will weed them out as surely as it will redneck trailer trash ("Bye Ned and Nev!" B^)

"When I entered university, I was worn out and drained of motivation. It seemed as though the hard work had finished. I had achieved the goals that were emphasised so strongly throughout my 13 years of private school education - I had been accepted into a well-regarded university course and received an ENTER score in the 90s.

Like my private school colleagues, I felt overwhelmed and ill-prepared in those first few daunting university semesters. Although I persisted so I could forge a career in my chosen field, several of my school friends simply could not adapt to independent learning and, after years of teachers spoon-feeding them with knowledge, they opted out because university made them feel incompetent."

There parents have bought them a ticket to ride, but they no longer have someone constantly keeping them on their horse.

"A recent Monash University study revealed that students educated at public schools are outperforming their private school counterparts in university, but gain a much smaller proportion of university places. This is hardly surprising, when you consider how sheltered the private school student becomes."

Academically coddled and coached, which fails to develop skills as an independent learner, but socially retarded because they are not used to mixing and dealing with a WIDE VARIETY of diverse people.

"Private schools are businesses. The constant focus on academic results is a compebreastive one and private schools will often use recent student ENTER scores as the theme of marketing campaigns. This pressure to achieve the highest number up to 99.99, is felt by both students and teachers. As a high result reflects well on the teacher, teachers put extensive time in with students, are generous when predicting individual subject scores (a VTAC requirement) and hold numerous extra study sessions throughout holiday periods and at weekends, to ensure the result is a pleasing one.

For fee-paying parents, this seems like a good thing. Public schools rarely run such programs but, unlike most private schools, students in government schools have been learning for years how to mix with a culturally and socially diverse group of students. They have had to use their initiative to make the most of limited resources and know that to achieve, they have to actively seek help.

Private schools need to put less emphasis on the ENTER score and focus on encouraging independent learning skills. It is startling to see that the majority of private school educated students do not socially interact with those who have come out of the public school system."

Schools which encourage CLbutt BASED elitism are undermining the foundation of our society and returning us to the stultifying constrictions of the English Clbutt system which we escaped from.

My kids are double-degree, publicly educated students at the best universities in the nation, high 90's TERS and able to move in all social circles. In other words, they judge people on MERIT, and not pedigree or the size of dad's wallet!

"This elitist atbreastude is also a result of private schools ignoring the importance of life skills, such as community awareness and interaction outside the upper socioeconomic strata.

Perhaps if private schools focus more on the welfare of students once they venture outside the school gates, students wouldn't find university such a social and academic challenge. Private schools must encourage students to take a more active role in their own learning and teach children not only what is on the curriculum, but about life in the real world."

"A report has found that the number of foreign students went from 10.8 to 21.1 per cent over eight years." - The Herald Sun 11-4-2005

That's eight years in which Howard doubled the number of Rich Full-Fee Paying Foreign Dummies who bought a place that could have gone to Australian kids. Most of the increase in student numbers was "taken by students from overseas". Decades of our taxes under the Menzies, Hawke and Keating years built our Universities, a vital element in developing our human resources and preventing the skills shortages that the Howard Government's inaction and social engineering in favour of the foreign elites has produced.

Now we will have to import these same rich foreign dummies that the Howard government has allowed to displace our own students, and give them the jobs your kids could have been trained for, in areas where skills are in high demand. The high paying careers!

Your kids will have to take the part-time hospitality jobs and casual crap washing BMW's for Howard's elite. They will never afford housing or child-care or health as the promise to preserve the Medicare safety net is broken. They won't even be able to run a car and will watch all transport costs go through the roof as petrol has doubled since the war in Iraq and continues to rocket skyward due to demand from China and supply concerns over instability in the M.E., worsened by the Warmongers creating chaos.

My kids beat the odds, they won places in the top courses at the top universities BASED ON MERIT, not their parents bank account. So why should I care if your kids miss out? Because the true-blue value which made this country dream of being different was A Fair Go for ALL, and by favouring the rich Howard and the tories are not encouraging egalitarian Oz, but destroying it.

"The only thing which counts is money" "Menzies founded a small-l liberal party. All of that has gone. They are no longer small-l liberals. They are now the right-wing side of politics".

- Dame Rachel Cleland Australian Story ABC 3-5-99 Dame Rachel was the Doyen of the Liberal party, a founding member whose husband began it with the now forgotten Menzies.

It was Pig-Iron Bob who did one thing right, when he created a University system where entry was based on merit, and even the poor could get access if they were good enough to win a scholarship.

True Blues give credit where it's due, without concern for party politics.

----------------------

"Menzies always emphasised that the Liberal Party was a liberal party.

He specifically rejected conservatism as a force within the Liberal Party.

Now, reading those particular Menzies speeches today, conservatism seems to be -- well, the whole political spectrum has moved to the right."
