Hi Wally - it is a hard one to answer (splitting hairs is a good analogy).
Pedophilia is a loveual deviation characterized by an abnormal loveual attraction to young children.
A person caught and stopped after his first act is not a repeat offender, but he is still a person.
A person that dies while still molesting his first and only victim is also still a person.
But as most people would agree - it is wrong.l
The thing about this thread that is irritating is the religious distinction between persons, initiated by nutjob.
I would seem to think that anyone prone to molesting young children can choose a religion in which to operate, using its so called good nature as the perfect place to hide.
So religion, any religion, is a modus operandi that is used by the person for his own sick purpose.
To say that the religion has caused the action is wrong - it is being used as well.
To single out any particular religion as a harbinger of pedophilia is simply grasping at loose straws.
As far as Mohammad goes- history doesn't lie.
And as far as nutjob goes - something as sick and harmful as pedophilia simply does not deserve a double standard dictated by his religious belief.
