Quotes of President Nixon 792Which one. He wrote a few. Devious is good? Mr. Gopal, are you forgetting that India and Pakistan almost went to war when...
Mr. Gopal I must point out to you that you jump to conclusions too easily. What Nixon actually thought is something we don't know. However, being an elected official of a democratic state Nixon was subjected to scrutiny by not only the congress but also the news media and the people at large and as such Nixon was forced to take actions in the interest of the state and not just his personal whims. Do you honestly believe the US would have invaded Pakistan had Musharraf refused to help the US post 9-11? I personally don't think so. Musharraf may have buckled a bit under the US pressure, but over all he was moved by the tragedy of 9-11.
As far as the Bajur attack is concerned, I think Musharraf is handling it well. Bajur is part of what is referred to as FATA in Pakistan. Federally Administered Tribal Area. Pakistan has very limited control in that area and, therefore, can't be responsible for what happens there.
