I am a man of humble means and I look at my own quality of life as a litmus test of how Pakistan is doing. When Benazir was the PM, things were bad. People were getting shot in the streets. Since Musharraf has taken over things have been very calm and the quality of life of the average Pakistani has improved.
I personally accept Musharraf even though he is not a democratically elected leader. He is by far better than most others. That's what matters.

My friend, this shows how little you know about Pakistan! An agreement with the backing of the military has a lot more chance of survivorship than the one made by any one else. Remember, the agreements that Benazir had made and Nawaz Sharif refused to honor most of them.
If India wants peace, Musharraf is the best chance you have. I say this in all honesty.
It is the results that matter. I have not seen such progress on the relationships between India and Pakistan as I see now while Musharraf is the president.
