Dave, if you had watched the show, they clearly said that the notion of looking for single gene correlates was ridiculous.
What their demonstration with the students showed, the experiment Nev derided because he's a committed racist, was that there was no correlation with the DNA SEQUENCE, and the expectations, even those of the students who share your views that 'race' can be determined just by looking at people!
People can laugh at Nev because his initial rejection of the data shows him to be prejudiced, that he will cling to 'race' because he has nothing but it's lies to make him feel superior, even though the experimental results show his views are wrong.
But your own misrepresentation and oversimplification of what the Genome studies show, simply gives him an opportunity to keep his nonsense afloat, by allowing him to pretend the implications are less damaging to the racist cause than they actually are!

And what they also showed was the complete HYPOCRISY of racists, in that as soon as one of their pseudo-scientific bullpoo justifications of 'race' is exploded, they adopt another, often the EXACT OPPOSITE OF THE FIRST!
In their discussion on the origin of most racist theories, eugenics, et al, they showed that the Nazis derived most of their racist theories from American work, and pre Jesse Owens, that ALL claimed that the 'Negro' was biologically inferior and headed to extinction. Oh they had 'data'.. the high infant mortality and short life expectancy of African Americans, (which strangely declined as their material conditions and access to healthcare and education improved!
