Man, that has to be prime real estate. I am surprised that it hasn't been turned into a few thousand units for innercity living. If they can do it to the ETSA building, why not.
How does it work - the council approves the planning, and they mysteriously all end up with a free unit at the end of construction.
It actually shows how much push the residents of Nth Adelaide have - remember when they had a complete street blocked off (somewhere around Barton Tce) to keep the morning traffic out, because it was waking the wife of a local politician. Even though it was illegally done by the council, with no legislation enacted, they still had the police there booking drivers who dared go through the blockade (a couple of no-entry signs).

I can see a bit of animal farm here - all residents are equal, but the Nth Adelaide residents are more equal than others.
From what I remember, the politician lost his seat, left his unit, and now the road is back to normal.
I also understand his bloody wife is hbuttling the residents of the new suburb they live in - something to do with preservation of a old house on the heritage list.
