Do you even know the origin of the mardi gras? It started as a protest march over the injustice suffered by the gay community. It is now a celebration of positive social change. "We're here, we're queer, get over it" was the slogan chanted in the early days, when the police use to arrest the people who participated. That is right, they were even denied the right to protest! It was never about tolerance, it was about equality. You don't have to tolerate gay people, you can always walk away, but you do have to treat them with equality.
I think you suffer from an inability to accept the differences in other people. I this you probably hate a lot of people for a variety of petty reasons. You were either brought up in a very pro-hate environment or your trying to cover for your own insecurities regarding your own differences. ie. Like many who are in the closet, your over compensating.
