The police in Singapore can be relied upon, they are effective and they are NOT corrupt. Most of all, cops in Singapore have the respect of the people and are not abused or frowned upon. Something that can't be said about policing in Australia. They perform their duties with pride and can hold their head up as they have not been reduced to uniformed revenue-raisers. I suppose, to you, any country that actually polices the laws must be a "police state".
Even a whimp like you should be able to aclimatise. Takes about 28 days. Besides you work hard all day and play all night when it is cool.

Not so - most Singaporean executive salaries are way in front of Australian salaries and yes, they all had maids and drivers. I treated mine like family to the point that I bought them with me to Singapore when I finished up in the Philippines. You should be all warm and fuzzy knowing that three thirdwolders who hadn't a hope in their own country were actually in a positionj to send money back to their family and still have enough left over for holidays and a decent life-style.
