Ever heard of the Iran Contra aka Irangate.
I didn't say the US sold to Iran - I said Iran got them through the back door.
Let's start with one point that is glaringly obvious. Pull out a few photos of insurgents in Iraq, holding hostages, fighting in the streets etc.
Check out their weapons - look closely and you will see some american weapons.
I'm sure the US did not sell them to the insurgents, but they got them from somewhere.
Picked them off the street or a soldier, bought them from someone's back shed or from an arms dealer.
Don't be so naive as to think there is not a roaring trade in illegal arms, that Iran would not be a top player, and that US weapons would not be at the head of the list for wanted arms. The countries of the Middle East have been the major clients of the Belarus military-industrial complex (MIC) since the middle of the nineties.
Since 2004, scientists in Belarus are taking part in a program of uranium enrichment at an underground facility in the Iranian city of Parchin, situated approximately in 30 km. southeast of Tehran.
If there are US weapon ready to sell, and Iran wants to purchase them, then some greedy bastard somewhere along the line will broker the deal.
Just follow the money!
Artie...
