They should pack up and pee off:
UP TO 100 students were locked out of a public school in Bankstown yesterday as they protested against a principal they say is unfair and too strict.
The other 500 students at Condell Park High School were locked inside the school for the day, with staff stacking up tables and chairs to secure one entrance.
Encouraged by a handful of parents, the protesting students waved placards and shouted slogans, cheering when a group of their clbuttmates managed to escape and join them by climbing under a fence. Police were called when the protesters spilled onto the street, blocking traffic.
Israel, We Won't Forget RachelAgain, have you any evidence that "the Israeli government has pressured the nations of the world to fine, ban, and imprison people for so saying." This is the argument you make...
The parent organiser of the protest, Alex Elkobaili, said he and other parents had been trying to raise concerns "for years" with the principal over excessive suspensions, heavy-handed discipline and inappropriate and offensive comments made to some students.
"She shows the children no respect," said Mr Elkobaili, who said three of his four children at the school had been suspended. "I am here for the sake of my children."
But another parent said Mr Elkobaili had brought the school into disrepute. "I'm not saying some parents may not have legitimate concerns," said Kevin Libdy, whose son had also been suspended. "But this is not the way to go about dealing with them . it's become personal and vindictive," he told Mr Elkobaili.
The protesting students complain of bullying by the principal and of being suspended for trivial offences. They said they disagreed with policies such as locking the toilets during clbutt time, strict enforcement of the school uniform and student contracts, which require students to arrive on time, complete buttignments and abide by the school rules.
