Are you referring to Bruce Lahn's work on the ASPM and Microcephalin genes? If that's the case, you have just demonstrated a complete lack of understanding of how evolutionary genetics works, and you've misread the consequence of Lahn's work.
The new (as in about 40,000 years ago) microcephalin gene is present in about 70% of people worldwide. It's more common in Middle Eastern and European populations, but it's not absent from other groups.
The changed ASPN gene is even more recent (about 6000 years ago), is present in about 25% of people and appears to be the result of selection pressure from humans living closer together in cities.

The research was (and is) intended to show that the human brain is still evolving.
The two genes in question, microcephalin and ASPM, are known to be involved in brain development because when they fail to function, they produce tiny brains and mental retardation.
I'd say we've just identified one of the 30% of people of European descent who're lacking both.
