It's also highly plausible that she is the victim of a miscarriage of justice and a kafkaesque legal system and buerocracy in Indonesia and to a lesser extent Australia.
It could be as simple as Australians in their compbuttion, common sense and decency see just that.
I think it's actually as simple as that. Nothing to do with her being White, or attractive, or White Australian racism or her having emotions (understandable in the tragic situation, duh)
I also found Justice Linton Straits logic disturbing: I've never had an acquital in 500 cases therefor the legal system must be perfect. That is supposed to be a learned Judge! (It's postively retarded by the standards of an Australian suburban solicitor who barely pbutted his final year)
Ofcourse there are a bunch of interests out there that want to claim that our concern is the product of racism or ignorance of Indonesia and its legal system. There motivations range from diplomatic, trade and security realtions issues, protecting incompetence in security and the simple pleasure of a "holier than thou" accusation of 'racism'.
It's no suprise for instance that the hypocrit racists of Malaysia's "New Straits Times" wheeled out their usual Westerner Bashing accusations of racism.
