Lord Jesus Christ forgive us if we see the faults of others before we have fully understood our own. Forgive us for the things we say and propagate when we have become desperate to hide under the mountains of sin which we have tried to pull over others and ourselves. Forgive us for not loving our neighbours fully and unconditionally as you teach. Forgive us for all the things in our lives which stop us having a personal relationship with you Lord. Forgive us for the times we have not known ourselves against the great glory of your Light in this dark world. Let all things we have written, said and done be forgiven by your blood Lord that we might start afresh, bathed in your Holy Spirit and fired in your Word. Thank you that your life paid the price for our sins and freed us to live anew in you, even if we have persecuted you and your followers as Paul(Saul) once did.
Your Word Lord, with its sharp and powerful edge which can cut through families and divide men, until all men are brought to repentance and given forgiveness through your grace....Your Word is Gospel, peace and love, it brings men back together in one body and in unity with one another. Forgive us if we have not yet understood the wisdom of your teachings and what it brings to all men when the weight of our own sins have been at their heaviest on our shoulders.
