Then you haven't been paying attention. Bush has been pushing for human rights reforms in Saudi Arabia since he first took office. And not only in Saudi Arabia, but in other Arab countries as well. Kuwait, for instance, has just elected it's first female minister, and has now given women the right to vote. Do try to keep up with the times, Spifty.
There are worse things than incarceration. Children being forced into slavery to ride as camel jockeys is worse. Women forced to live in a land with no representation and no rights is worse. If my incarceration would help to bring an end to it, that's the least I could do. Your problem is that you enjoy the freedoms that others have sacrificed their lives to provide for you while giving nothing back in return. That makes you a coward.
Such as? Appeasement? Appeasement has never liberated anybody. On the contrary, appeasement only strengthens tryanny.
Talking of Desecration ... 3175Name one single human rights reform measure that was implemented in Saudi Arabia prior to Bush putting pressure on the Saudis. Name one single human rights reform...
What is pointless about standing up for one's rights, and the rights of others? Oh right. I see your point. If you are a coward, and are afraid to stand up for yourself and for others, you might think it is pointless to try.
I've told you why. I am in bad health, that's why. Otherwise, I wouldn't be wasting my time talking to you about this issue. But I can help by making people aware of these issues, and encouraging others to stand up for their rights. You only seem to want to hide beneath a rock and pretend that it isn't real, or cower before the 'powers that be' and allow them to abuse people and perpetuate that system of abuse.
Sure they do. I even know bimbos who graduated Cum Laud, but who have never had an original thought. Our education system doesn't require original thought in order for someone to succeed. That is why there are so many mediocre people in this country.
Talking of Desecration ... 3174I would not fault his courage or his convictions in that case, but I would reject his methods of trying to insbreastute change in a place that will not respond...
Why wouldn't I? I asked for it, didn't I? She was referring to our past policy, not our current policy, which is to encourage democratic reforms.
