It is their country and their rules. Either abide by their laws or stay the f*** out of their country. I am not a Muslim and I have no love for Muslims in general or their religion. However, I do respect their national integrity and sovereignty. All nations have a right to self-rule without interference from other nations or other people in other nations.

Only when a nation threatens the sovereignty of another nation should interference be tolerated. It is the arrogance of trying to force the beliefs of people in one nation onto the people of another nation that creates wars, which are the greatest evil of all.

If some Christian is so pious that he cannot travel without his bible, then he should not travel to a Muslim nation that prohibits bibles. It is like carrying drugs into the USA. They may be legal in other places, but here they are not. As stupid as our drug laws are, we have every right as a nation to enforce them. The right of a sovereign nation to rule within its own borders should be the first and most important rule of international law.

Then yours is simply an extension of mine, not something different. But what a stupid thing that would be to do in a country like Saudi Arabia! Civil disobedience depends entirely...

OK then I'll copy-past part of a reply to George which did address the issue. Happy now? As I stated, simply...

That is why our attack on Iraq is criminal. Saddam was the rightful leader of that nation and we had no right to interfere in their internal politics. That we claim to do so to spread Democracy is as feeble as the claim of the Crusaders to be spreading Christianity. Democracy is best home grown by a people that have slowly learned to appreciate freedom.

Are you suggesting that another invasion is in order? Not at all. If the law...

While we claim to be spreading democracy in Iraq, we are losing our freedom here to a government that will soon make Saddam look like a sweet fellow.

"The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations to have with them as little political connection as possible. . . . nothing is more essential than that permanent, inveterate antipathies against particular nations and pbuttionate attachments for others should be excluded, and that in place of them just and amicable feelings toward all should be cultivated. The nation which indulges toward another an habitual hatred or an habitual fondness is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest." -- President George Washington, Farewell Address, Sept. 26, 1796

"History records that the money changers have used every form of abuse, intrigue, deceit, and violent means possible to maintain their control over governments by controlling money and it's issuance". -- James Madison

"I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations." - James Madison, address to the Virginia Convention, June 16, 1788.
