Don't look at technology now, but what will be available in the future.

For example look at mobile phones and compare the original mobile with current versions (quite a change in not that long a period).

So the theory is talking about satellite technolgy that will become available, in probably a very short time.

This technology will not be developed in Australia (nothing is developed in Oz) but to the O-S countries like China who have foresight and a government that will actually put R&D into its infrastructure - the world is their oyster.

Did you know that Telstra Oz and NZ have shifted all their elecrtonics production to China, a change that has happened within the last 18 months due to the Oz government introducing tough compliance laws for local companies producing electronics used in telecommunications.

This has made them unable to compete, and in some cases even taking 12 - 18 months simply to get compliance.

Similar to the C-Tick and EMC regulations which cost Oz companies dearly when tryingto R&D - of course there are no similar rules in China where electronics are simply copied, have false compliance stickers (or non at all attached) and are sold in Australia against companies held back by compliance restrictions.

Should there be a "not" in that sentence? Not taking the pee... Of course. Especially if you ignore planned...

What has this to do with Telstra?

Not much of a change. They still do the same thing. They allow you to talk to people from a bobile base, as...

No matter what happens, they will always be at the mercy of those controlling the equipment, and if that happens to be the Chinese who are producing and will soon be launching the satellites - they will always be behind.

Doesn't make the share price look good!

Cheers Artie
