I know of only one reason to suspect that there is any kind of God at all, and that cannot be tested.
To discuss God, one must first define what one means by God. If God is the creator of the universe, then God created a universe where it is impossible to know of his existance. Thus, it is God's will he not be known and the question is moot: either God doesn't exist, or God exists and it is his will we not know of his existance. Either way, we should conduct ourselves as if God doesn't exist. Pretty funny.
But, it it tautological that the universe either has, or has not a God creator. If there is no God, then we should know the universe by science in order to best survive, as survial, as a species, seems to be our purpose. If there is a God, then all we can know about him is through his creation, and again, we are lead to science to know God's word. If God's true word, the physical laws of the univese, conflict with a man written and man printed Bible, we should reject the Bible.
Either way, given that we live in a knowable universe, we are lead the use of science. If we have any significance at all, it is that we are able to use complex logic to conduct science. The irrational God of the bible would be a contradiction to God's laws as set forth in the universe itself, ergo, we can rule out the Biblical God.
