Shmaryahu b. Chanoch
Ah yes. Saul the Roman who was charged with the persecution of Christianity. Who became the self proclaimed thirteenth apostle and whom the other apostles disagreed. Paul, who wrote "Slaves, obey your masters" which the Romans couldn't have asked for a better religion for their slaves. The reason why Christian morality has been successful is the same reason why Roman morality was so sucessful.
Paul interjected Roman values and Roman morals in place of the teaching of Jesus. The followers of Jesus died out a long time ago, as the ideology of non violence and no collection of wealth is a bankrupt moral system that destroys all those who hold to that philosophy. The morality taught by Jesus is not a morality for living life, but a morality of rest; you are literally told to do these things and to accept all suffering for the sake of an afterlife. No where do you find communities of pbuttivist who would give you everything they own to you for your asking. They are extinct. Grey's second law of philosophy: A philosophy that leads to the extinction of all those who hold to it is morally bankrupt.
