The Douglas Wood Affair and Hilali's porkies Redux

}This story is marked by confusion and extreme luck for Wood, through }this unfolding incident Hilali was doing the rounds of Baghdad hotels }and basking in the media attention. During this time he and his }followers released different conflicting and unsubstantiated claims }which quickly changed and shifted when any scrutiny was applied by }some journalists. The Sheik has a long track record of changing }stories to suit his own ends. He has gone one step further in using a }tragic incident to grandstand while swanning around Baghdad and Cairo }all the while sowing confusion and false hope for the Wood family. Now }that Wood has been rescued, in a shoot out with his captors Hilali }(and slimy supporters like Trad) has stepped in to claim that it was }his efforts that Wood was freed. There has been no evidence }forthcoming to support this and Wood is yet to even confirm that he }spoke to the Sheik (as Hilali claims - originally he said he had met }Wood face to face - this story was quickly changed). Hilali probably }thought Wood would be end and he would be seen as a great guy for }trying to free him and even offering to swap himself for the hostage. } }We can only await the in depth media probes (say on the ABC and SBS) }asking the hard questions about Hilali and his involvement in this }affair. No doubt the Sheik has simply been misunderstood - yet again. }But so were Adolf Hitler, Stalin and the Sheik's friend Osama.

Should have added that while initially I was glad (albeit mildly suspicious) to see Hilali step forward to offer buttistance with trying to negotiate freeing Wood. Certainly a good step towards showing some good will from Muslims towards non-Muslims and going a long way to changing people's minds about Islam. I guess we shouldn't have been surprised when it degenerated into a Keystone Kops comedy of lies and hasty reshuffling of events and facts with the usual wide eyed insistence that the truth was being told and our poor Muslim protagonist was merely the victim of repeated misunderstandings.

Perhaps the arrogant-lazy parasite should take the time to learn some English given that he has been enjoying the fruits of this country for over 10 years (them again he feels he is above our laws so why should he have to stoop to learning our language). More the reason to expect that people have a command of the language before receiving permanent residency or citizenship. The Austrians have made this law and in the face of an outcry from buttorted lefties and third world parasites have stuck to their guns.
