I think this will be a core promise. I just hope that Costello's promise that superannuation payments for the over 60s next year are tax free is a core promise too. I don't want to work under this new IR legislation even though I am in a group of workers who probably won't be affected by it, certainly not in the short term (my employer was very keen to get the existing enterprise agreement extended for a further three years before the legislation came into effect.}

I fear for my kids who are just starting in their carreers. It is the young workers who will be worse affected they have neither the experience nor the expertise to deal with employers. Few of them will be able to earn the money needed to save for a house. We will go from a nation of homeowners to renters. The whole nature of our society will change because of this law and we will go from a society to an economy (as the arch unpleasant woman Thatcher claimed we already were)

Let's hope people realise the importance of proper unions inspite of the legislation's attempt to sideline them because the useless labor party won't help them.
