This is the frustrating thing.
None of us really know if she is guilty or innocent - everyone just has a gut feeling.
I look at it like this - if some needle stole your car and sped through radar, you, the car owner, would be booked for speeding, because the radar gun only picks up the crime, not who actually did it.
Doesn't matter if you were driving or not, if you were the car owner you would get the fine.
Under our legal system, you can dispute the fact and offer the name of the thief, give proof the car was stolen, or sign a stat. dec. in front of a justice of the peace. It at least gives you a chance.
I think the system in Indonesia was like the radar gun, it picked up the crime, but didn't prove who did it.
Just because the drugs were in her bag, it does not mean she put them there - just like the owner of the car may not be the driver at the time of the speed infringement.
I know there is a difference between drugs and speeding, but the principle is the same.
Schapelle had a lesser chance of prooving her innocence than a car owner booked for speeding.
Cheers Artie.
