It is true that there is a significant proportion of asian students in universities- 30 - 40% of enrolments are full fee paying international students, mainly asian. If you dont like this, go have a cry in Brendan Nelson's office, its a product his and this governmetns policies. Government funding for universities has fallen through the floor and without international students, universities would be bankrupt.
As for white Australians vs other Australians getting into university, they all have an equal chance, they all have to pbutt the same entry criteria. Whats the problem? As for "Australians of European decent" being effectively excluded- thats complete rubbish.
Just like previous generations were swamped by greeks and italians? We cant have a repeat of that kind of thing, now can we? One would have hoped these petty little racist rants would have remained back in that era, but sadly it seems not.
As for breastle, Professional racist is more fitting than Professor in the case of Andrew Fraser. Particularly now as Macquarie University has just sacked him over racist comments. And rightly so, anyone who singles out a particular group and publicly expresses displeasure at their 'over-achieving', has no place being an academic in an Australian university.
Thats not exactly right. Hes been heard plenty in the media. But yes, he has been condemed, and for good reason.
