Demagogue Staged Arab Riots
Mr Bush, you see what happens if you make me give my people democracy? It is better to pay me to keep them under control." Unfortunately...

Abstinence is definitely not in the rules, but a varying scale of moderation can never hurt. As for the fishing, perhaps one of the 10 suggestions (f*** 10 commandments, gotta worry about religions that command) should be "THOU SHALT FISH WITH BEER IN THINE HAND!"

If they're using it with you so consistently, then there might be a lesson in it for you. I use it only when it is exactly...

Scary thing is I've recently started listening to a lot of old Akka Dakka again after years of abstinence. You sometimes forget the old clbuttics!

For a change let's look at the other side of the coin
TR the miserable Troll wrote this unfriendly message in soc.culture.usa,soc.culture.french,soc.culture.german, soc.culture.british,soc.culture.nordic,soc.culture.canada,soc.culture.australian, soc.culture.arabic,soc.culture.russian,soc.culture.spain: Blah, blah, blah Boring...

Never ignore threats, complacency makes dead. Just be very careful to identify exactly what the threat is and where it comes from, and not confuse it with all the smokescreens that are routinely thrown up.

Exactly, couldn't agree more. Religion is just an excuse for these idiots. There's a very big difference between so-called "fundamentalists" and legitimate "purists".

Mankind is too cruel, vindictive, narrow-minded and just plain mean for any real god to actually exist, because if he does, he's a complete needle for the poo he puts humanity through. What a wanker. poo, I'd be more scared if I did believe in such a malevolent being!

G'day Artie - it's pretty basic. 5 pillars and you're halfway there... I wasn't suggesting that you should change your beliefs. No, I don't see Islam as...

Yeah, I'd agree from a good-hearted point of view, but from a more realistic point of view I'd say that it was only peppered with the above and really was just a way to try to control the mbuttes when the people writing these works of fiction didn't happen to be at the top of the foodchain and wanted a little extra insurance. And it appears to have worked.

I'd expect to see the term "BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!" at the end of every page, with a BPay code in the back page! 8

Agree with you, but unfortunately as much as I'd like to I just can't make that work in my head. I didn't get that feeling of a higher being when my brother died, just decided the world was poo for a time, messes with your mind a bit when you don't have that mental crutch of religion and it dawns on you how temporary the existence of those you care about really is, and it's amazing how easy it is to get a bit loopy and become a totally different person for a time. The funny thing is that the friend who did the most to drag me back out of negative land to reality land is a Muslim chick who's like a sister to me, one of many reasons why I get the poos with idiots out there that go Islam bashing. There's good and bad in every race, religion and any other grouping, but it's truly rare to find people with hearts of gold. And they can spring from anywhere.

Funny thing as boring as I find his work is that's one of the things I admire a lot in people. Blind acceptance irks me. People that need to know "why" are those that truly understand. You'll never get a good techie for instance that just accepts the way things work, the good ones can't handle not knowing why it does, and when they do they're 1000-fold better at fixing and adapting than those that just go about their jobs like drones without any understanding of what they're doing.

poo, mine was "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas"!

As long as the meaning comes through, it doesn't matter. Crap expressed in iambic pentameter is still crap. I tend to feel that simplicity is a virtue when it comes to writing. Because...

Perhaps you need to take her on a long holiday-bonkfest-second honeymoon and get away from work for a time! It appears you're starting to take your profession way too seriously! :)

(And if she somehow sees this post and starts badgering you for that holiday, don't blame me! You know you'd enjoy it!)
