If they're using it with you so consistently, then there might be a lesson in it for you. I use it only when it is exactly what I want...

As long as the meaning comes through, it doesn't matter. Crap expressed in iambic pentameter is still crap. I tend to feel that simplicity is a virtue when it comes to writing.

Because when you add the promise of eternal bliss to dying for a cause, and when people believe absolutely that this will be their reward, the goalposts shift. If you believed with no shred of doubt that your reward will be the eternal joys of some sweet heaven for doing something, it puts a whole new complexion on it. I wish I could believe something like that! :) (No, I'll rephrase that - I wish I had some absolute butturance that that would happen!)

Non-religious people understand that they have only one life to live or to give, with no reward in heaven, so I think they tend to treat the matter of dying for a cause somewhat differently - not of course that most of us who have little or no belief in making it to some place of eternal bliss would not sacrifice our lives for something that really mattered to us.

We can nearly always make the time to do the things that we really want to. It's a matter of our priorities most of all. Basically if we don't do something it's usually because we put other things above that that we regard as more important.

We all have our priorities and we place at the top what matters most to us.

As I said, it's priorities once again! :)

See what I mean? :)

You idiot! Now you'll have bloody Hunter knocking at your door with his Drunken Jedi Watchtower magazine, wanting to baptise you in a keg of VB. You're just dead lucky his light sabre doesn't work like it used to....
