This guy is just spinning a line first figured out in Washington.
Iraq is getting on its feet. Zarqawi has been doing the most of the evil deeds. Foreign persons are getting captured or end. More violence is expected in the near future; but it will be committed mostly by mafia-like criminals-hint, hint, so we will be enbreastled to use any available weapons to destroy them and any collateral damage will be just too bad for the Iraqis. And of course, by implication, our troops will remain to ensure the ``peace''.
Every sentence is an buttertion. Most of them have been spoken before many times, without a trace of confirmation. And they are now re-emit as alwasy as a puff of noise designed for publilc consumption, with built-in plausible deniability and refinability. The buttertion that the insurgents are now mostly criminals is the refinement designed to evade other questions such as those concerning the tens of thousands of detainees in prisons, the elusiveness of Zarqawi, the destruction of Fallujah, as well as the move to aggressively clamp down on dissent when the new government concocted behind closed doors doesn't satisfy the Iraqis who voted and US troops will remain.
