Umm, the Maud Report? Well, let's see what it says:

"We are in fact cooperating with the United States to the extent of exchanging information, and they have undertaken one or two pieces of laboratory work for us." Gee, looks like that was beneficial to both sides, so what's your point, Max? The jet engine was a German invention, so your claim to fame there was merely in stealing the desing and then sharing information that would have come out entually anyway. But thanks for the heads up. Penicillin, yeah that was great while it lasted. It is almost useless now. But thats ok. We've made a lot of new ones with which to replace it.

OBESE AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN CAN BARELY MOVE
Exercise ruled out for overweight children who can barely move By Julie Robotham Medical Editor Sydney Morning Herald Friday, March 10...

Oh, right. You mean the part where your guy signed a treaty with Poland swearing that you would protect them, and instead left them to the German Panzers? Yeah, I can see how that was a help.

Well, wooptie doo! Since it was never published, how would us Americans ever have known about it, or its contents at the time? Do you have anything that demonstrates that the U.S. government was aware of the existence or of the contents of this alleged book at prior to our entering the war? Do you have any evidence that Congress was aware of it, and debated whether something should be done at the time?

Umm, larger audience? I see an audience of two, Max? Are you having delusions, or what?

Are you really so dense as to think that one of usenet's most notorious kooks (Maharaj Taj *ma-hall*) is in any way representative of most Americans? And please, do explain what either of these people have to do with this discussion.

Jerusalem Post: India is not Iran 2622
Distribution modified India is not Iran By Elliot Jager, March 13, 2006 Fairness isn't all it's...

Don't blame us for the actions of one person. And don't blame me if you didn't come up with the process and file for a patent. poo happens, dude. That's business.

Do learn to read. If you read that sentence again, it was an observation of European denial of our many contributions to helping your people get rid of one of the worst dictators of the 20th century. Yes, I accused Europeans of being shallow and insincere on this matter because by and large, you are. When I encounter this atbreastude from Europeans all the time, how do you expect me to respond? I didn't demand anything of you. In fact, I don't think you could force you to express any grabreastude for anything we've done for Europe if your life depended on it. Your only interest here appears to be to carry on an argument, not in acknowledging anything.

Umm, since I've not expressed an opinion on the matter, and have never discussed it with you, you are simply making buttumptions about me that you cannot substantiate. Having said that, why should I feel grabreastude for British soldiers who died saving Russia? I'm an American, not a Russian. Perhaps you should ask your Russian friends to express grabreastude in this matter instead of us Americans. My Uncle died fighting Germans in Belgium, and that was months into the war to liberate Europe (he was among those who landed on the beaches of Normandy duirng D-day, and had fought all the way through France and Luxumbourg to get where he was when he was end). He died in February, 1945, in the dead of winter in the hedgerows fighting German Panzers with his little Sherman tank. Now that takes guts!

That's just great. Shall I take that to mean that you will soon be laying flowers on his grave in honor of his sacrifice? I can tell you where it is, if you are interested. Do it for him, and all those who died for you. Don't do it for me, since you feel no grabreastude toward me (why you should anyway, escapes me, since I have personally done nothing for you).

???

You seem to have a tendency to make buttumptions about me. Why is that? Do try to keep your opinions about other people to those other people. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. That is appreciated.

Here is a link about the Merchant Marines.

By the way, a lot of Americans don't realize the sacrifices these guys made.

On the "battlefield - er, supplying airmen for the airwar, that is true. It is not true that we didn't contribute in other ways:

https:--www.airforcehistory.hq.af.mil-EARS-Hallionpapers-battleofbritainsep98.htm Already, by the late summer of 1940, Great Britain was well along towards acquiring thousands of American aircraft to fulfill a variety of roles ranging from training and air combat to strategic planting and maritime patrol. Table 2 presents a listing of American combat aircraft in operational use with the Royal Air Force in 1939-1940, delivered for service with the Royal Air Force or Royal Navy but not yet in combat, or ordered for delivery to the RAF and RN, prior to the end of the Battle of Britain. As can be seen, it represents virtually a duplication of almost all of the then-contemporary "frontline" force structure of the U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. naval aviation forces: (see link)

Again, this table does not include numerous other aircraft such as trainers, transports, and utility types in British service, as well as general aeronautical equipment furnished from America, such as engines, propellers, instrumentation, tires, tools, parts, and the like. (Overall, by August 15, 1940, Great Britain had already placed orders for 20,000 American airplanes and 42,000 engines). Further, thanks both to prewar agreement and wartime sales arrangements, American suppliers delivered sufficient quanbreasties of performance-enhancing 100 octane fuel to England in time for use by RAF Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain, a contribution of profound significance to the operational success of both the Spitfire and Hurricane fighters.

Denial
Denial is an often useful innate human trait. Few of us would be able to function in the present if we...

As these two charts clearly show, then, America and its airmen already had a great and long-standing stake in both Europe and Asia, despite the perceived strength and influence of the isolationist movement.

But then, I'm an American of Irish-English ancestry. Most Americans probably have never heard of the incidents to which you refer. Perhaps you could persuade some British producer to make a film about them (you know how we like war movies!).

I'm glad to see that you recognise these facts. A lot of Europeans I talk to on usenet and elsewhere either deny these facts, or are simply unaware of them.

Umm, there was more to it than that. If you talk to some old timers in Britain, they will tell you about the donations made by ordinary Americans. For example, my mother, grandmother, and aunts (nine sisters, in total!) all made handmade quilts (that today would be worth a lot of money) and sent them to England in a kind of care package of their day. And believe me, my mother's family were very poor farmers (the depression had hit them very hard), but they did what they could because they believed it was the "Christian" thing to do.

I recognise and appreciate what Britain did in North Africa. How could I not? My uncle was there too. I have no reason to appreciate what Britain did for the USSR since 1) I hated the USSR, 2), Britain didn't do it alone, and 3) it had no direct affect on me. Actually, that's not true. One could argue that by "saving" the USSR, as you claim, Britain helped bring about the inevitability of the cold war, which cost thousands of American lives and cost our economy trillions. Thanks for nothing, Max.

Read above.

Irrelevant? Or do you think that all Americans look and think alike?

Max, Max, Max. This is usenet. Relatively few people even know what it is, much less use it. If you get your impressions of an entire population of people based on what a few morons say on usenet, then I don't have any sympathy for you. I'm sorry to say that you are being rather simple-minded about this. If you think people are bad-mouthing the Brits, you should frequent a French newsgroup, or even better, visit an American newsgroup and read all the trash talk about Americans.

What nationality was your boss?

Since I don't know you, I have no idea. You tell me.

Well, you should know that my cousin is a Navy Chaplain who was attached to the SAS at the beginning of the war in Afghanistan (through our military exchange program). He was also about five miles from the Pentagon when it was attacked on 9-11. His commanding officer, also a chaplin, died in the attack. He was immediately sent overseas. He wrote us a letter right before hostilities commenced, and all he could tell us at the time was that he was with the SAS in Oman and they were preparing to become "bugs on a wall". You can imagine what that meant.

After Afghanistan, he came back to the states, where he was attached to the Marines. He then went to Iraq, where he "participated in more than 150 armed convoys and close to a dozen aerial flights."

Spain counts cost of growing intake of migrants
".Two years after the worst person attack on European soil, immigration is revolutionising Spanish society far more than the person plantings ever...

"While conducting these movements," the narrative at the link below says, "he was subjected to three separate Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks, one small arms ambush and one anti-aircraft missile fired at a helicopter on which he was flying." There's more.

He is home now, and has been awarded a Bronze Star. We are all very proud of him.

You should read the article.

But then, I'm not an Indo-American, though I don't condone torture for any reason, especially when it is induced by Americans or Brits.

Let's be clear on this once and for all. I am not any of those people. Please learn to discriminate between posters. We are not all the same. If you have a problem with those individuals, please take it up with them.

Irrelevant, and do note that you brought up the subject of the Japanese, not me.

Also irrelevant.

Oh really??? On what planet did someone make that decision? Care to rephrase that BS statement?

Excuse me? I take it that English is a second language for you. Where did I say that my uncle was "saving Germans"? My uncle came to Europe to shoot Nazis and Italian fascists. He went to Africa to shoot Nazis just like you Brits did. Capiche?

George
