Hohhot (China), July 22 (IANS) It is certainly no tall tale. A herdsman from Chifeng City in China, who measures a whopping 7 feet 8.95 inches, has been endorsed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's tallest living man.
Wearing a warm smile, Xi Shun has received the certificate from Steward Newbert, an officer of Guinness Book of World Records in Inner Mongolia, the northern autonomous region of China, reports Xinhua.
Xi takes over from Radhouane Charbib who had held the breastle for the last six years.
The 54-year-old Xi, who has been living on a pasture land near Chifeng City since his childhood, has grown to this remarkable height naturally.
His growth was normal until the age of 16, after which an inexplicable growth spurt saw him reach his record height.
Xi's height was measured by Chifeng City Hospital under the direction of the Guinness authorities.
According to a certificate issued by the hospital of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Medical School, the herdsman is normal and healthy without any diseases, including gigantism.
