That's just an buttertion that has no validity other than an opinion.

Err, no. He stated that the U.S. government needed to be abolished and America returned to being a nation of voluntary communities of like-minded individuals joined together in mutual...

We could start with the Philippines, when you blasted the Spanish fleet out of the water in 1904 and took it over. But...

I am perfectly aware of the nature of free speech, unlike you, who are demanding that a man not have it or you will take away his livelihood. That's not free speech, that's vicious intimidation.

You pay the salaries of thousands of people in Colorado who do not think as you do. Only a jerk would make the claim that if someone says something you disagree with, he should be fired. You're not his employer; you pay those taxes so more qualified people than you can judge whether or not a man is enbreastled to say what he thinks in public and to provoke debate.

Of course you can try to prove he is wrong. Can you think of no arguments in favour of not removing the US from the face of the earth? I would have thought that is pretty simple. With charming people like you in the US, how hard is it to prove you're worth keeping around? If he's wrong, say why he's wrong, but don't try using economic blackmail to silence dissent. American society was built on better principles than that.

That is precisely the same thing in this instance as denying the principle of free speech to a person and threatening their job if they speak their mind. Pure intimidation.

The question IS absolutely about free speech. You are forced to pay your taxes because you live in Colorado and enjoy the right to say what you want. So does he. You have never had the right to decide the precise details on how your taxes will be spent, except at the ballot box or through influence via other legitimate avenues of free expression. He's doing the job he's paid for. Get over it.

faces were As shocking as the professor's remarks may be, it is even more shocking to see fascist responses as official policy. It is even more interesting...

Clearly, no-one does. He's being paid to express himself, but unless you are in a similar position where your role is to debate issues publicly, then you don't expect payment for it.

Because his university chose him to do a job. It's not up to you to decide whether he can go on doing it - unless, of course, you are a huge benefactor of the university and can blackmail them by the threat of withdrawing your funds. You'd do that, wouldn't you?

Possibly not. The university does.... so far.... Live with it. Maybe the 'people of Colorado' aren't used to hearing some unpalatable untruths.

Someone who doesn't like to see the rights of an academic to express his opinion based on the work he does violated. Someone who sees that the US is partly in the mess it is in its foreign policy because free speech is stifled by people like you who can't stand hearing a contrary opinion and is advocating the methods of dictators to shut him up.

Think of me as a friend who's trying to save you from your own small-mindedness. (heh heh!) The enemies of the US are trying harsher forms of persuasion than words.
