"I am perfectly aware of the nature of free speech, unlike you, who are

demanding that a man not have it or you will take away his livelihood. That's not free speech, that's vicious intimidation."

No, it's right. You're not comprehending, but I can see from your responses that you're a very slow learner...

Wrong. The state and the taxpayers do not owe Ward Churchill his livelihood. For the state to pay him is a reward for services that we want to have. To cease paying him is not a punishment for free speech, but rather an unwillingness to reward him when we find his service to be worthless. Punishment for free speech would involve finning him or imprisoning him. And no one is suggesting that.

"You pay the salaries of thousands of people in Colorado who do not think as you do."

Those people are not paid to teach what they think. For those few that are paid to teach what they think, the state and the taxpayers have the freedom to decide if what they teach is of value to the society or not. And 90% of Colorado taxpayers would find the teachings of Ward Churchill to be obnoxious and destructive to society.

"Of course you can try to prove he is wrong."

You have to be a complete moron to try to make the case that political opinions can be proven to be right or wrong.

"That is precisely the same thing in this instance as denying the principle of free speech to a person and threatening their job if they speak their mind. Pure intimidation. "

It's not "their" job, microbrain. The job belongs to the state and is paid for by state tax payers. And they may choose to give it to whoever they want. Churchill is free to say what he wants both before and after his job is taken. There is no connection between taking his job and his free speech. His job is based upon what he teaches. People are fired or hired based upon how well their employer thinks that they are doing their job. If the state and its taxpayer feel that his teaching means that he is doing a bad job then they are free to fire him.

"You are forced to pay your taxes because you live in Colorado and enjoy the right to say what you want."

That's the most idiotic statement that you have made yet. There is no connection between paying taxes and free speech. Free speech is guaranteed for everyone and it has no connection with taxes. Furthermore, it has no connection with employment. No one is guaranteed employment and no university is forced to pay a salary to anyone for saying any bullpoo that they please. They can say what they want on their own time and on their own nickle.

"You have never had the right to decide the precise details on how your taxes will be spent, except at the ballot box or through influence via other legitimate avenues of free expression."

No, we do not decide the precise details of how our taxes are spent. But we should always let our legislators know that we will not reelect them if money is spent on idiots like Churchill.

"Clearly, no-one does. He's being paid to express himself, but unless you are in a similar position where your role is to debate issues publicly, then you don't expect payment for it. "

Where did you get the idea that we pay university professors to debate issues publicly? If we pay them for anything, then it is to introduce all issues and give all issues fair representation. We do not pay professors to be radical advocates for a cause. We pay politicians to debate issues publicly, and we fire the ones with who we disagree.

"Because his university chose him to do a job. It's not up to you to decide whether he can go on doing it"

The universities are full of left wing idiots like you. Just because they choose someone to do a job does not mean that it was a good decision. And it may not be up to me personally to decide if he goes on with his job, but it is up to the taxpayers of Colorado to decide if we go on funding the University. And I can tell you that the employment of Ward Churchill has cast a serious doubt about that in the minds of many Coloradoans. The next time that Colorado tax payers are asked to approve more money for higher education, their response may well be, no. Furthermore, recent enrollments in CU have taken a big hit already. Also remember that I have free speech and I am free to object to how my taxes are used.

"Maybe the people of Colorado' aren't used to hearing some unpalatable untruths."

Maybe the people of Colorado know when they are hearing hate mongering bullpoo from a phony Indian wannabe.

"Someone who doesn't like to see the rights of an academic to express his opinion based on the work he does violated."

Okay microbrain, then why shouldn't the Universities hire someone who wants to teach the opinion that Hitler was a Saint, all blacks should be dissolutioned, and a nuclear plant should be dropped on Washington? Can't your simple little brain differentiate between having the freedom to express such an opinion and having someone pay you to do so. Let's face it, you are stupid enough to buy what Churchill is saying and so you try to defend his idiocy as an issue of free speech when in fact it has zero to do with free speech.
