We could start with the Philippines, when you blasted the Spanish fleet out of the water in 1904 and took it over. But imperialism is not just the clbuttic nineteenth century process of invading places and ruling them. Imperialism has many forms - economic, political and military.... and the US has mastered those methods over the last 100 years or more.
Controlled by multinationals with government connections to manipulate the price of oil and the conditions of those who actually do the work.
Get over this infantile view that imperialism is about owning colonies. What the US does is buy off or install their governments, to preserve the illusion that the US is not the occupier, and let them screw their own people while making a profit for Uncle Sam.
On the wealth generated partly within the US and far more by economic exploitation of weaker states.
OUR oil money???? You have not the foggiest notion of the economics and politics of oil and the social effects of your policies. The objective of all oil companies has been to screw the biggest possible profit out of the product for the least possible cost. Multinationals pay western governments billions to guarantee they can continue doing that, even to the extent of going to war in Iraq on the pretext that they are doing something noble!

They certainly haven't had the brand of 'democracy' that has been imposed on them recently, no.
The US had its own civilian population on side when it threw the British out. It is NOT the US's right to decide for other countries what they are going to have. You are deluding yourself. And in doing so, you guarantee that there will be fertile grounds for terrorism in the Middle East and West Asia for as long as you fail to understand the basis of life outside your cocoon.
