As I said - energy production should be owned and controlled by the people, not private enterprise. It is to important.
Nuclear is good, but Hydrogen will is better, without the problems of nuclear - it is totally proven, and just needs development.
This has to be the most important development to the history of mankind there is - our current use of resource is killing us.
It's okay to look at the economic side of things, although that doesn't help us if we are all dead.
Without being detrimental, this is not a short term goal - it is about a complete change in our production, management and use of energy.
For example, incandesent globes are rapidy being replaced by LED technology.
We do not produce LED's in Oz, or own any technology regarding the production of LED's.
Once again, Australia will spent the next number of eons giving money to others because of a complete lack of political and business foresight - not allowing grants etc so that our engineers can develop our own technology in this field.
Do you wnat the same to happen with future energy production.
It is easy at present - sell some yellowcake, get the easy money and run the books in the black.
Big deal!
When it runs out, we will again be at the beck and call of every other country who has existing politicians who can see further ahead than their own retiremment benefit.
We have the chance to be at the forefront of this development - but you haven't even acknowledge the points I made regarding it.
I understand you want to go into politics - I think you will fit in very well.
Without malice.
Artie....
