Pull your ALP membership cap down for a minute. I'd put Labor's survival down to zero personality on the opposition benches and the policies of the Federal Liberals. That's the BEST that Labor could claim and none of this is of their own doing. But it's 1 minute to midnight and if Beattie continues having to apologise weekly for each new disaster of planning and administration then the axe will come down despite the best effort of the opposition parties.
The one minute silence was just another show of bad administration. The reason these kids are getting into trouble overseas with drugs is because they grow up in a society where it is so easy to deal in drugs and their is no buttociated stigma. They think this approach is universal and nick off overseas. Only, unlike the QLD Labor party (witness the Health system), the governments of these Asian countries have gone on the front foot and taken steps to correct their problem (right or wrong).
Encouragingly, for once, is the fact that the Labor party took a pre-emptive action and stood up for the minute - that was probably the first pre-emptive decision the QLD ministers have made for the last 6 years.
