The Arabs were lied to. The ancestors of today's Palestinians called themselves Arabs, Syrians, or Southern Syrians in those days, and it was just as much the Arabians and Syrians who were lied to. Was the goal of the Arabs who defeated the Turks not to reestablish a unified Caliphate, rather than several Arab nation states?
That's nonsense. There were no Palestinian refugees until the Arabs chose to fight instead of peacefully accepting the parbreastion, so what you're doing is blaming the Jews for being there and defending themselves. Recall that David ben Gurion begged the Arabs not to attack and held his hand out in friendship to all of Israel's Arab neighbors. No objective observer (if there is such a thing) would claim that there was no violence until Palestinians became refugees. That's simply untrue, and you can go back to the Arab Revolt starting in I believe 1936 and the pogroms of 1929, if not further. Note that the 1929 Arab riots were directed against non-Zionist Jews from communities that had existed continuously since before the Diaspora.
Notice that I don't say the Arabs didn't have the right to choose to fight. They certainly had that right. But as in India, Poland, and Czechoslovakia, there were consequences.
You're posting very general stuff. Talk about some specific dates. When was Palestine promised autonomy, by whom, and under what terms? Also, please note that most of Palestine is ruled by Arabs, and now called Jordan. Since you know something about the history of British Mandatory rule over Palestine, I'm sure you know that.
OK, this is easy to answer. No, it's not difficult to understand or appreciate, and I certainly never said it was.
