ASIO wants to kill me: Habib
FORMER terror suspect Mamdouh Habib yesterday claimed Australian spy body ASIO may have ordered his apparent stabbing in a suburban park.
But Federal Attorney-General Philip Ruddock yesterday dismissed the claim with one word: "Ludicrous."
Mr Habib again appeared on the Seven Network yesterday to air the bizarre claim, which police are refusing to take seriously.
This followed Seven's decision to air Mr Habib's false claims the previous night that The Daily Telegraph had reported he took part in the City to Surf run while claiming a disability pension.

The newspaper did no such thing ö it reported, accurately, that the former Guantanamo Bay inmate was currently seeking the disabled pension while also taking part in fun runs and giving speeches to universities.
Despite this, Seven aired Mr Habib's claims that he had been stabbed because of the media attention ö and invited him back again yesterday when he suggested ASIO involvement.
Mr Habib also claimed on Seven that there were surveillance bugs and "bright lights" around his house which meant he and his wife had to visit the local park in the dead of night to hold conversations.
officers warned him that if he returned to Australia his life would be miserable.
"I know this going to happen once. Because I was told in Cuba, 'When you come back in Australia you're going to have a miserable life,' " he said.
Asked directly if he thought ASIO was responsible for the alleged attack on Monday night, Mr Habib said he needed proof.
"I can't say because I have no evidence to say because when you say something you have to have very solid proof," he said.
"And especially I'm talking with ASIO, I'm not talking with anybody else."
Police yesterday said they had taken a statement from Mr Habib and his wife Maha regarding the alleged stabbing, which is said to have occurred about 12.15am on Monday. It occurred in Bright Park on Guildford Rd, Guildford.
Rosehill local area commander Superintendent Phil Hickman said Mr Habib's wounds had not required sbreastches.
He said police were treating the incident seriously.
"We're just awaiting certain exhibits to be handed over for forensic testing," he said.
