I'm more interested in why Indonesia didn't express the same concern with all the boaties coming to Australia from their shores.
Not only did they not want them back, they didn't give a damn about Australia's position, and actually used the UN refugee charter as an escape clause for not taking them back to Indonesia.

I wonder how their reaction to this type if situation will change when they are negotiating the purchase of Oz uranium for their power plants, when their diplomatic decency will either make or break the importation of uranium.
When Australia has something the Indonesians need (apart from the taxpayers money and military training already frivolously given to them by our illustrious leader, chimp boy) then we will see a complete change in atbreastude, to one starting to approach the decency you would expect one country showing another.
Until then - Indonesia leadership (if you can call it that) acting the jerk will remain the norm.
