Great points. I once visited some of my relatives in Kentucky and saw the processing of tobacco plants in progress. It's really a hard job. I was just a little kid and was not allowed to help. One issue that liberals don't understand in relation to banning tobacco is this: Millions of poor people in America would lose their incomes. I realize that there are some rich people and rich companies that own tobacco plantations--I don't care about those people losing money. However, I do care about the thousands of small farmers that only own 100 acres of land or less. In many cases, they make their total years income from tobacco. The liberals don't care about those people--most of them would lose their farms and go on welfare if tobacco was banned. In fact, one of those families is related to me and they are living in poverty. They only have a small farm and are therefore are limited in the amount of tobacco they can grow. In addition, there is some sort of quota system on the amount that they are allowed to grow.
