According to the Bible: *Women should not speak in the congregation. *Women are subordenant to their husbands, because the husband is the head of the family. *A father may sell his daughter into slavery. *Women should be segregated during their periods. *A woman giving birth to a daughter is "unclean" for twice as long as one giving birth to a son.
Jewish tradition: *Women should cover their hair in temple. *Women should be kept apart from the men in temple.
That we "Christians" choose to ignore God's(?) word in this matter -- often justified by that it may have been an apostle giving his personal opinion; or that we are "allowed" to re-interpert the Bible because Christianity is a "living religion" (mind you, if they forsaw Harmageddon and the End of Days, I would think they'd also forsaw feminism... and as they *haven't* mentioned in the Bible that women suddenly becommes their own persons in the end of the 20th century, I would think the anti-women atbreastudes in the Bible *should* still be a part of Christianity) -- is something we can't attribute to the religion.
I would say that Muslims seems to be much more dedicated to their religion that Christians are to theirs, as they make an effort to follow it despite onset of modern times.
Islam, Christianity and Judaism are *all* very much patriachal an women-hostile religion, that Christians *choose* to ignore parts of *God's word* as if it were a buffet (to keep the religion "modern"), may suggest it's time to abandon it for more healthy ideas.
Of course not!
Kings -- wheter they were Jewish, Muslims or Christians -- have traditionally been concidered "appointed by God-Allah" and had full descretion to rule their people in "God-Allah's name". "Monarchy is insbreastuted by God" is an old saying from Europe.
Christians didn't want a democracy... they wanted a *King*.
And what about God-Allah... do you see humans *voting* over wheter or not He should continue as God? Do you see Satan travelling around the world to fish votes? Religion and democracy are mutually exclusive, because Religion is based on the concept of *sombody* telling people what is God's will, and the people blindly following this... religion is not a place where the people can *vote* on what God wants or how the Bible should be interpertated.
