;-)

Where do you get this from?

First, as I understand it, the concept involves wide distribution of the genrators in order that advantage can be taken of wind that is available anywhere in the UK at any one time. Clearly distribution will in this event be via the National Grid as is the case with all other forms of generation.

So Optus sack 60 workers, then invite them back under lower pay rates
I was wondering about this too. Perhaps these people were employed thru Optus in one of those pooty little shelf companies? ACTU...

Second power line losses occur for two reasons. The first is inductance and the second is ohmic resistance . Both are directly proportional to the length of the conductor, the first is also directly proportional to the of the current carried and the second is also directly proportional to the square of the current carried.

The transmission of electricity at high voltage as in the NG reduces the transmission currents and so energy losses from both causes. There is also another bonus in that lower carried currents reduces the size, weight and consequent cost of power lines.

I don't think "Lebanese crime-gangs" could be concidered all that accurate either. While it is true that the Lebanese are probably have the largest Middle Eastern community in Australia and therefore probably occupy a...

The necessarily wide distribution of generators within a wind powered system is going to call for larger distributive networks not smaller and because of the more modest output from an individual wind generator the will be transmitted to the grid at much lower voltages giving greater line losses before the system feeds into the NG.
