Dear Imen,
I don't think that you have any idea just how stringent they are, and added to this charities have their own governing bodies and Chief executives who are usually from respected walks in public life. The reasoning for this is that it is yet another safety factor, as no-one wants their careers destroyed. Would you like me to pbutt on copies of your letters to the chief executives of World Vision?
The regulating bodies take fraud 'very seriously' indeed, especially on an international scale. If you have an accusation the USE the governing bodies to investigate your claims, this is their job.
Auditing of all charities has to be carried out yearly by qualified auditors. In the case of World Vision Australia their accounts
" External audits are conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers in addition to our own internal audits."
If you are in the UK you can write to them at
Address: World Vision House Opal Drive Fox Milne Milton Keynes MK15 0ZR Charity registration no: 285908
WORLD VISION INTERNATIONAL PO Box 9716 Federal Way, WA 98063

Non-denominational does not mean that they are claiming not to be Christian's. The term non-denominational means that they are not affiliated to a particular Christian group. Therefore, their work and appeals are taken into Christian churches all over the world of all kinds of denominations. Non-Christian's do not have to give and, certainly, if they are concerned after having given they really should contact the appropriate people, or even the police if they feel that's appropriate..
