Oh well. You're enbreastled to your opinion. If those questions are ever answered in court, you may start to understand why he would not do so in a public arena.

Possibly. But I can't imagine some in that category getting paid for interviews, can you? It would be in the interests of the program's ratings to sock it to them. Clearly there were ground rules for this particular interview that had to be adhered to otherwise, no deal. If 9 wants chequebook journalism then they have to negotiate as best they can with someone they want to make a lot of money out of. That's why they paid him, of course!

Gregory Shearman Exactly, you can not state that I am not a person, you don't know me well enough or...

Did he? What did he say he wanted to sue them for?

It could, though I could raise some relevant differences as well. I buttumed the only way he would ever be in court here in Oz, barring new evidence that would be enough to put him on trial for a criminal act, would be a case he initiated to argue for his pbuttport back. In such a case a number of relevant issues would certainly be raised, and I suspect that's what he was referring to in the 60 mins. interview.

A lawyer buttesses a case when someone comes to them requesting legal advice. That's their training and what they are paid for. If people are willing to pay their fee, then the arrangement is mutually satisfactory. If people can't afford the fee and the lawyer can see that the person has a good case, they may well do it pro bono or turn it over to the appropriate state legal services together with their legal opinion on the case. Lawyers operate under very specific rules about their responsibilities towards ANY person seeking legal representation.

Is it in his best interests to be legally unrepresented in a society where many are baying for his blood? That would certainly not be in his interests, nor those of his family.

I am sure you aren't either, but then neither you nor they are in his position. If he is what people claim, then he needs legal representation just as surely as if he is not. That's why we have a justice system in this country that, for all its faults, provides a better and fairer service than the one that tried O J Simpson.
