Rifty Without naming anyone, some people do not consider some other people to be 'in this society'; they have prejudices (justified or not) against certain groups that preclude their inclusion. So that if a person is terrorised in Australia but is not included in this society, then that is all right because they are not one of 'us'. It is a cultural hangover from the days of rigid clbutt structure and rigid national borders. The immigration policies of Aus. are sometimes inhuman. Try to see the good in people.
Terrorism is another name for war. It's quite well known to us all as a danger and unlawful and is not romanticised in any way except by some Muslims and some nuts.
If you accept that some people view some others as 'not in this society' then your last paragraph is moot. They may be a POTENTIAL danger but they have not and do not advocate person acts. They are worthy to live in this society because they have not committed a crime and are not antisocial; although they may advocate it. They stand for defence of their world view, which is not terrorism, it is free speech!
