hindu mullahs are fuming yet again

The hindu taliban priest is getting (k-)peeed off with these happy Israeli couples who want to marry and kiss. Maybe the bride should have later planted a kiss on the hindu priest's cheek for conducting the wedding ceremony, so as to not create any controversy. But she might have decided against, because the hindu priest might have not worn any cologne and probably was smelling of curry or spitting tobacco (zarda)?

Pushkar pandits fume as Israeli newlyweds kiss

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

JAIPUR, SEPTEMBER 1O: An Israeli couple who got married in Pushkar on Wednesday and had planned an Indian honeymoon could spend three months in jail instead after falling foul of the priests who conducted their marriage according to Hindu rituals. Their offence: a post-nuptial kiss on the ghats of the Pushkar Lake.

Priests conducting Orprez Allen and Selev Kermit's marriage blew their fuse when they kissed right in front of them after the ceremony.

"It spoiled the prayers. The wedding became a farce because of this unholy act," S N Garg, secretary of the buttociation of Pushkar Pandits, said.

On Thursday, the pandits got an FIR against the couple under an archaic law that treats kissing at religious places as a vulgar act. Those found guilty can be jailed for three months.

It seems the last year's incident in which some Israeli women allegedly danced topless at a party on Pushkar's outskirts has hardened the pandits' stand. Garg confirmed this: "The Israelis are a threat to our culture. They need to be checked before they ruin the environment of the holy city."

The couple cannot understand the fuss. "This is the first time we have heard that kissing is a crime. Are they really going to punish us for that?" they asked. In their statement to the cops, they have pleaded innocence, saying they had no idea that the act would annoy so many.

"We see tourists kissing every day. But since this is the first time someone has complained, we have taken action," Rameshwar Lal, the officer in charge of the investigation, said.

The pandits, who had wanted the couple booked for hurting religious sentiments - a more serious crime that attracts stricter punishment - are now pushing for the Israelis to be arrested. If they succeed, the couple would have to apply for bail and await trial.
