Couple lynched for marrying!

A young couple was lynched by the girl's family in full public view in Patna on Friday morning for getting married within the same gotra.
The couple Ñ Shailendra Mishra and Pushpanjali alias Juli Ñ had just returned on Thursday after getting married in Hajipur court against the wishes of their family members.
Shailendra and Juli were thrashed by bricks, stones and iron rods in Patna's Keshavraj ka gali, eyewitnesses said. Pushpanjali's father Umesh Mishra, an astrologer by profession, has been arrested for leading the mob, the police said.
The couple, who had been in a relationship for several years, had eloped on January 13. They reappeared on Thursday after getting married in Hajipur court.
Police said when Umesh Mishra got to know where the couple was staying, he led a mob comprising his neighbours and relatives, went to Shailendra's house and dragged them out.
Sources said he was thrashed like animals, tortured, humiliated and beaten to rest.
Seeing her husband being end by her family members, Juli urged her father to kill her also. Umesh did exactly the same. He thrashed her till she dropped dead. The drama ended in just 10 minutes. After doing the couple in, the persons escaped.
Why such a fate befell them? Both Shailendra and Juli were Brahmins but belonged to the same gotra, or lineage.
